Always Do Your Best

August 28, 2013 by Doug Carpenter

Ice Manufacturing St. Louis

This is a very busy time of the year for people associated with the packaged ice industry. The seasonality of this industry continues to surprise even long term veterans. It seems as though ice sales go from a trickle to a barely controllable flood in nothing flat. Equipment goes from running 3-4 days a week for 8 hours, to 24/7 madness. When summer vacation is coupled with summer heat, the flood gates open. No matter how much we prepare for the madness, challenges still abound.

When the challenges of the summer rush surround us, it’s imperative to remember to always do your best. Doing your best means committing yourself 100% to each action you do. When we truly do our best, it’s easier to accept the challenges and outcomes presented to us. This level of commitment nurtures a self confidence that allows us to better accept difficult situations with the knowledge that we truly did our best. Doing your best means action without regret. Yes, sometimes the outcome is not what is desired, but you can be confident that you gave it your all.

When challenges become overwhelming, never stop doing your best. Do your best because you want to, because it’s the right thing to do, and because it’s the only logical option. Be self motivated; don’t act because someone is looking or because it is what you are supposed to do.  Do your best knowing that the outcome may not be by your design. Life’s variables surround us every day, and these variables are mostly out of our control. Tomorrow will present new surprises. Never stop doing your best.
